Within the cross-border Interreg Sweden-Norway programme work field Attractive Living Environment the Jamtli Foundation in Östersund Jämtland County and Sør-Trøndelag County Municipality develop historical cultural environments in the Nordic Green Belt by distribution of knowledge and information about cultural environment and heritage.
The project wants to preserve the region's cultural heritage by focusing on its role in local structural and economic improvement for owners, administration in both local and regional government (and related interest groups).
The improved awareness and attitude to cultural heritage as a resource for development involves a better understanding of its common values and potential. Development by reuse of cultural heritage is important for both region's economic strength and attractive living conditions.
The project is a Swedish and Norwegian cooperation: Jamtli Foundation in Östersund Jämtland County and Sør-Trøndelag County Municipality.
The project is financed by the European union structural funds, the Foundation Jamtli, Sør-Trøndelag County Municipality, Jämtland County Municipality, Nord-Trøndelag County Municipality, Sverresborg- museum cooperation Middle Norway (MIST) and Västernorrland County Municipality.
